Cobalt Drill Bits For Drilling Harder Metals

TTP HARD Cobalt drill bits
We have designed our cobalt drill bits (5% cobalt) for the drilling of harder metals and alloys including stainless steel. As a result our drill bits are the drill
bit of choice for both professionals and enthusiasts.
What are cobalt drill bits
Most cobalt bits contain either 5% cobalt (M35) or 8% cobalt (M42). The higher the percentage of cobalt the more brittle the drill bit will become, therefore 8% cobalt bits are better suited for controlled drilling situations, such as the use of a pedestal drill where both perfectly straight drilling and controlled drilling speed can be achieved.
For most non production drilling applications, and particularly when drilling is been performed with a hand drill M35 or 5% cobalt drills would be the preferred option as these are less brittle. However 5% cobalt drill bits have superb red hardness and abrasion resistance and will therefore perform superbly in the drilling of harder metals and alloys.
Reasons to choose TTP HARD cobalt drill bits
1) Highest Testing Standards
In order to ensure our products are of the highest standard we have had them tested by two of the worlds leading testing houses. Our cobalt drill bits have been tested for hardness and have received a certificate of hardness. Similarly we have had our metal cutting paste tested in order to determine its extreme pressure capabilities. We have the video of the testing and the testing report available.
2) The addition of cobalt
- Improves the ‘red hardness’ of the drill bit. This is the ability of the drill bit to maintain its cutting abilities at higher temperatures.
- Improves the abrasion resistance of the drill bit, hence reducing unnecessary heat build up.
- Cobalt bits can be resharpened therefore increasing their life.
3) Professionals choose TTP HARD cobalt drill bits
Because our drill bits perform so well when drilling metal they are often the preferred choice for professional installers and mechanical fitters who regularly have to drill hardened steel. We are delighted to share our drill bit reviews from satisfied diy enthusiasts, locksmiths and professional installers. So whether you are looking for a specific cobalt drill bit size in imperial or metric for drilling stainless steel or require a cobalt drill bit set for drilling hardened metals we will have an option suitable for your needs.
